About Gordon ParksThe artist I am using as inspiration is Gordon Parks. He was an American photographer who died at age 93. His journey as a photographer was from the 1940s to 1970s during world war II. His photos always had a deep meaning and were specific to his life experiences, all his photos are linked racism. I want to take photos inspired by as his photography to show that all racism needs to stop and society should be more supportive of ethnic minorities. Between 1940 to 1970, there was lot of racism and injustice. He took a diverse range of photos this suggests that he wanted life to be fair for everyone.

How will I start this project? My project idea is to take photo of my friend linked to Gordon parks' photo. I will ask members of the public to take a photograph of them. My aim is make the relationship between my photos and Gordon's photos easily identifiable. My second aim is to try and recreate this photograph. I have chosen this photo because it evokes sympathy from the person viewing this photo. I think that this picture shows how society can manipulate standards and opinions of race, beauty, occupation and education. The boy in the photo is picking the white baby while starring at the black baby as if he feels like he has no choice as that is what society has told him is right. I can see this boy wants to freedom. This is the same as other ethnic minorities during the 1940s to 1970s.
